Welcome to the Collective!

Hello! I'm so excited to bring Ventura an easy, meet you where you are, opportunity to experience a lower waste lifestyle. I want to make zero waste swaps and product refills accessible and convenient by bringing them directly to you when you need them.  Like Amazon Prime, but make it local and sustainable.

Second Wave Collective intends to be a joyful, judgement free shop that I hope inspires people to reconsider refills and zero waste swaps over buying new.

Reducing waste and preserving our beautiful natural environment has always been a love of mine. I've been lucky to travel the world and see so many incredible places on land and underwater.  That's part of what brought me to Ventura with its low key vibe and gorgeous coastlines and hills.  With beauty like this, how can you not be motivated to keep it clean?  After serving on the board of my local Surfrider Chapter for a few years, I was charmed by the zero waste movement and challenged myself to phase in more zero waste options at home.

I hope I can welcome you to ride this wave with us where we embrace progress over perfection in reducing waste while building community. More waves, less waste!

With love, Beth & Chewie

Welcome to the Collective!

Welcome to the Collective!

Welcome to Second Wave Collective! We're thrilled to have you here. Whether you're a longtime advocate for sustainable living or just beginning to explore ways to reduce your environmental footprint, this is the perfect place to start your zero waste journey.

What is a Mobile Refill Shop?

Our mobile refill shop is a retail service designed to simplify eliminating single-use packaging and reducing waste at the source. Instead of buying products in disposable containers that end up in landfills, you can have your own reusable containers—jars, bottles, bags, or tins—filled with exactly what you need. From household cleaners to personal care items, our zero waste refillery offer everyday essentials without the packaging waste.

It's a simple concept where small actions can add up to a big impact. You choose the product you want, pay only for the quantity you need, and leave the rest to us to deliver it right to your front door.

Enjoy knowing you've made a choice that benefits both your home and the planet.

Why Zero Waste Refilleries Matter

Reducing Landfill Waste

Packaging makes up a significant portion of what ends up in our landfills. By refilling containers instead of constantly purchasing new ones, we dramatically cut the amount of waste each household generates. Over time, this adds up to millions of tons of packaging kept out of the waste stream.

Lowering Your Environmental Footprint

Manufacturing and transporting packaging requires energy and resources. When you refill what you already have, you're reducing demand for new packaging production, which means fewer emissions, less water usage, and less strain on natural resources.

Saving Money

Many customers find that refilling is more affordable than buying new because you don't have to pay for packaging.  You're also getting higher quality, cleaner ingredients that typically carry a premium price at places like Whole Foods.

Building Community

I hope for my mobile refill shop to create opportunities to meet people with shared values. I look forward to meeting neighbors, exchange tips, and become part of a movement to protect Ventura's natural beauty. It's about connection as much as it is about sustainability.
